Race2Raise: 1st Camp Run

The first Camp Run organized by eXtribe Inc., a known sports lifestyle organizer will be on June 25. The Camp Run Series is a series of running events wherein partner foundations such as the Ninoy & Cory Aquino foundation through the iamninoy-imcory runners group will be one of the beneficiaries; the others are DepEd Adopt A School, Hero Foundation, ABS-CBN e-midia program.

Please participate in this worthy endeavor and show that by the simple task of running which we all LOVE to do, we can make a difference in the lives of children who are all so willing and eager to receive an education but are unable to because of poverty.

One of the premiere sports lifestyle companies in the country, eXtribe Inc. was formed in 2003 by a group of triathletes that recognized that there were very few triathlon races in the country and wanted to create and organize quality sports events. Some of the more popular multi-sport races they have done are the White Rock Long Distance Triathlon and the eXtri Off-Road Triathlon. They were also involved in Pasig River Run, Cobra Ironman 70.3, New Balance and the EDSA Run, to name a few.

Aside from organizing race events, eXtribe Inc. also believes in the importance of community building. In line with this is their newest project entitled “Race2Raise with the theme “train, race, serve”. The aim of the project is to invite participants to train to become a hero, race to make a difference and serve as inspiration for others. One of the events, the Camp Run Series will help gain support foe eXtribe’s partner foundations which are: DepEd Adopt A school Program, ABS-CBN’s E-media Project, HERO Foundation Inc. and iamninoy-iamcory Runners for the 5775 Movement. The Race2Raise campaign is also in partnership with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

For those who are interested in being a part of the worthy endeavor, you may call eXtribe at telephone number 439-3007, telefax 438-9021. You may look for Mr. Eric Imperio 0922-8196671 or Ms. Maan Oriondo 0922-8918033.

New Balance Raising Hope

New Balance will be having a charity running event called ‘New Balance Raising Hope’ for cancer patients and cancer awareness. This is for the benefit of three foundations that cater to providing help to people with cancer and their families. These are The Carewell Community, I Can Serve Foundation and Natasha Goulborn Foundaton.

Runners, we all know of someone who has been stricken by this disease or is going through painful treatments; he/she could be a family member, a spouse, an officemate, a friend or a friend’s friend. The truth is, cancer is around and continues to threaten the lives of many. The former President Corazon Aquino succumbed to colon cancer in 2009.

The New iamninoy-iamcory Runners Shirt

The new and improved iamninoy-iamcory Runners shirt is now available. A few months ago we asked you to vote for the new design and this emerged as the winner.

The shirts are designed for comfort while training or when you are going on short or long runs.

Importantly, wearing the shirt represents your most valued contribution to helping our country. The shirt is your badge, creating awareness and making a donation to our beneficiary 57:75 Movement. Your contribution goes a long way in fulfilling the Movement’s objective of providing books, in-school feeding and schools to less privileged school children.

The cost of the shirt is P850. This includes a donation to 57:75 and membership to the iamninoy-iamcory runners group.

The shirts are available at the Rudy Project store located at Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City. You have a choice of short-sleeved shirts and singlets. From the number of inquiries we received and continue to receive regarding the shirt, it is expected that the shirts will sell fast. But do not worry, we will produce continually whenever inventory is low.

Members who already have the previous shirts can continue to use these during your runs. However, if you wish to own this new one, you’ll have to purchase again at the above-mentioned price.
